HawaiiKidsCAN
Dec. 12, 2017
HawaiiKidsCAN: We see an education system of the future in Hawaii, one where
students—regardless of zip code or income level—have access to high-
quality educational experiences and graduate with the adaptability, creativity and curiosity to be our local and global leaders. We envision a
system that promotes and celebrates multilingualism, diversity and our Hawaiian host culture. We envision an education system where school leaders and teachers are celebrated as professionals and individuals, that fosters engaged citizens in politics and community issues and in which our students’ identities are affirmed as residents of Hawaii. By high school graduation, students would be set up for success and ready to contribute to our local community, economy and society. |

Gather thoughts and comments about where the city should focus regarding resiliency issues
Feb. 27, 2018
Hi David, My name is Uyen Vong with the City and County of Honolulu’s Office of Climate Change, Sustainability and Resiliency. As you may know, the office was created by city charter in 2016 when voters overwhelming approved its creation. We are currently in the sixth month since the executive director & chief resilience officer was hired, and now we are reaching out to community stakeholders to gather input on their thoughts on island resiliency. I am reaching out to you and your rotary club to ask for some time on the agenda to present about our office and also gather thoughts and comments about where the city should focus regarding resiliency issues. Please let me know what the next available Tuesday is for our agency to present to your organization. Sincerely, Uyen Uyen T.
