The object of the Rotary Dictionary Project is to give every student a personal dictionary of their very own that will serve them at least through elementary and middle school.
A dictionary is perhaps the most powerful reference tool that a child should own. Seeing the joy of a child when they realize that they have a book of their own that they can read and use is one of fulfillment for the Rotarians involved in distribution. The students and teachers meet successful adults in their local community who care enough about them to purchase dictionaries and come to their school to present them to each student individually.
