Our annual fun run goes directly to assisting families on Oahu. Event details and schedule
This year we are encouraging participants to run in costumes. Come as your favorite super hero, princess, animal or anything fun that you can think of. Be creative. Ask your friends and family to join in the fun and create a team. To create a TEAM, start your registration, then after the first section "Participant Information", there is a section called "Team Information". You can either select a team, or create a new team. We also would like to encourage family and friends who do not live in Hawaii to join in and support Family Promise by running a virtual 5k with us. They can register and donate to Family Promise, and send pictures in to show us how they celebrate family fun. The fun run course is a flat loop starting at Kailua Intermediate School heading North down Kainalu, turn around at Kainui and back to Kailua Intermediate School

808 Cleanup
Oct. 31, 2017
Fawn Dene’ LiebengoodAssistant Director, 808 Cleanups. In 2014, Fawn made a career switch from Social Psychology to pursue her true passion for our marine environment. From an early age, Fawn began cutting up 6 pack rings to protect marine animals. This change happened after seeing more and more marine animals entangled in fishing line and ingesting marine debris. Fawn felt convicted to do step up, take action, and dedicate her future to preventing, removing, and educating others about marine debris. In 2016, she earned an MBA in Nonprofit Management, Entrepreneurship Certificate, and an Outstanding Community Service Award from Chaminade University and the Hogan Entrepreneur Program. Fawn is a certified F.I.I. Level 1 Free diver, PADI Open Water Scuba Diver, and POP Pilates Instructor. |

HawaiiKidsCAN
Dec. 12, 2017
HawaiiKidsCAN: We see an education system of the future in Hawaii, one where
students—regardless of zip code or income level—have access to high-
quality educational experiences and graduate with the adaptability, creativity and curiosity to be our local and global leaders. We envision a
system that promotes and celebrates multilingualism, diversity and our Hawaiian host culture. We envision an education system where school leaders and teachers are celebrated as professionals and individuals, that fosters engaged citizens in politics and community issues and in which our students’ identities are affirmed as residents of Hawaii. By high school graduation, students would be set up for success and ready to contribute to our local community, economy and society. |

Gather thoughts and comments about where the city should focus regarding resiliency issues
Feb. 27, 2018
Hi David, My name is Uyen Vong with the City and County of Honolulu’s Office of Climate Change, Sustainability and Resiliency. As you may know, the office was created by city charter in 2016 when voters overwhelming approved its creation. We are currently in the sixth month since the executive director & chief resilience officer was hired, and now we are reaching out to community stakeholders to gather input on their thoughts on island resiliency. I am reaching out to you and your rotary club to ask for some time on the agenda to present about our office and also gather thoughts and comments about where the city should focus regarding resiliency issues. Please let me know what the next available Tuesday is for our agency to present to your organization. Sincerely, Uyen Uyen T.
